01National Standards
Ductile iron pipes must meet the following standards:
International Standards:ISO 2531-2009 "Ductile iron pipes, fittings, accessories and interfaces for water transmission".
European Standard:EN 545 -2010 "Requirements and Test Methods for Ductile Iron Pipes, Pipe Fittings, Accessories and Fittings for Water Supply Lines".
National Standards:GB/T 13295-2019 "Ductile iron pipes, fittings and accessories for water and gas". This standard puts forward specific requirements on the wall thickness, size, material properties, internal and external corrosion resistance, sealing, labeling, etc. of ductile iron pipes and pipe fittings, and provides a technical basis for production and use.
02Performance requirements
01Tensile test
Ductile iron pipes should have high strength and good toughness. According to the national standard of GB/T13295-2019,The minimum tensile strength should reach 420MPa, the yield strength should not be less than 270MPa, and the minimum elongation should not be less than 10%., to deal with various mechanical stresses in the water supply system.

03Corrosion resistance
Lining:
Use Centrifugal cement mortar lining(Thickness ≥5mm), neutralizes acidic water quality, and prevents scaling of the inner wall.
External anti-corrosion:
External zinc coating (thickness ≥130g/㎡, zinc content ≥99.99%) + asphalt paint, resist acid and alkali erosion in the soil.
By filling the ductile iron tube with water and pressing it, observe it whether it appears Leakage, deformation and other phenomena to evaluate its sealing performance and pressure bearing capacity.
Interfaces are the weak links of the piping system.Ductile iron pipe adopts T Type slide-in interface, to facilitate installation and adapt to the thermal expansion and contraction of the pipeline, ensuring the sealing of the pipeline system.
During acceptance, strict control must be carried out from the three aspects of appearance, size and performance.. The surface of the pipeline should be smooth and free of cracks or sand holes, the ports should be flat and burrs, and the uniform coating should not fall off. The dimensional tolerance must be controlled within ±3%, and the straightness meets the national standard requirements.
The quality of ductile iron pipes is directly related to the safety of urban water supply. Only by strictly controlling the entire process from materials, design, construction to acceptance can we ensure the stable operation of the pipeline system for more than 50 years.When choosing a supplier, do not ignore quality because of price.
